Well Trump Nation has been beat over the head with them for a year, yet here we are with a landslide victory for Trump.

Trump has HUGE rallies...but they don't matter because the polls say blah, blah, blah.

Trump yard signs are everywhere....but they don't matter because the polls say blah, blah, blah.

Trump has tons of Twitter/Facebook followers....but they don't matter because the polls say blah, blah, blah.

RCP, Wang, Nate Silver, Monmouth, Reuters, NBC/WSJ, CBS....all these polls we discussed not stop for over a year have now been deemed worthless. It may take 20 years to repair their reputations.

So how will the media now control the narrative if people believe polls are worthless?

I want my F'n time back that I spent discussing these polls. Can I sue?

I wouldn't call a split down the near middle a landslide victory.

To go from every prediction giving Hillary 300+ electoral/1% chance of Trump victory to Trump ~305 electoral votes and winning the popular vote....yeah, that's a landslide. This is a HUGE moment in history. Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson HUGE.

The polling game is in shambles despite a lot of "highly" educated people running it. Trump said they were wrong and yet again he was proven right. I'll never forget how "smart" people constantly made fun of him for that...those memories are forever etched into my mind.

Breaking through the 'blue wall' was a landslide victory for Trump, no doubt about it!

Yep. Trump eviscerated the blue wall....PA, MI, WI and competitive in ME/MN. Hillary was taken to the woodshed.

Well, A and B.

A: Given the amount of lying that was done, I was likely to take that any pollster who said Clinton was going to win, despite any history they had of predicting previous elections, had been bought. In short, I wasn't going to accept the information presented until it was over.

B: When I reviewed the findings this evening at 2300, after being out of it for the day, it did sort of strike me like this:

In that......."WELL, that didn't go the way it was planned!".

I have to admit the polls did get me down though I knew there was a good chance that Trump would overperform the polls. This 'science' turns out to be wishful thinking.

1. You're confusing an election being significant with an election being a landslide. The decisive states in the EC were extremely close, and Trump may not end up with the popular vote. It's down to 200,000 votes right now, out of a country of over 300 million. There is no sense in which that is a landslide.

The polls weren't that far off. The RCP was at less than +3 for Clinton right before the election, which is about three points off of what actually happened. Three points is within the margin of error for most polls.

That isn't what "landslide" means. Hillary may still win the popular vote -- it's down to 200,000 and California still has 20% of precincts to report. Either way, an election within 200,000 votes in a country of 300 million is not a landslide.

To say it is HUGE is an understatement. Good comparison: Douglas/Tyson fight.

(I was actually in Tokyo when that fight took place. I watched it on the local TV.)
