California is the high tech capital of the world, is one of the world's top entertainment and media capitals, a major focal point in the global financial markets, the state grows half the nation's produce, is the biggest donor state to the federal pot( CA puts in more than it gets back) and California has the world's 6th largest economy and poised to surpass the UK and become the world's 5th largest economy.

All of that has me beginning to wonder. Maybe Trump's victory out of state is waking us up to the reality that we no longer belong.

Who knows? We shall see...

This does seem to have momentum but it might cool off quickly. Emotions are hot right now. Americans have a tendency to be passive and forgetful. Both left and right are having fun with this idea, sure it is fun to think about and a good mental exercise, play out the scenario in your head.

CA will get its Democratic President either in 2016 or 2020 or win the Senate or something.

The Northern half of CA wants no part in the rest of them. Hope that wall goes up between AZ and CA.

The last REAL secession movement didn't work out too well.

They may have a large economy, but their fiscal house is in disarray. They couldn't afford to pull this off if they wanted to.

Yes, the US limps along on large deficits, but the Treasury can print money. CA doesn't have that luxury.

Pipe dream.

It's hard to comprehend but it went even worse than last night's election.

More childish BS because their team didn't win. Same with Texas sometimes. Everyone wants to pretend that they are open and just want to work together, but the second they don't get their way, the other side are dummies and they want to take their ball and go home.

Commiefornia has five of our largest bases and most of our Navy, they aren't leaving with that stuff.

But I agree Arizona should build a wall... and make the commieforians pay for it!

Please, create your own country. California is only 12% of the US population, yet accounts for 34% of all welfare recipients. You are a welfare state. Do the math. Sounds like California could be a wealthy country and take care of it's own welfare citizens.

BTW, the United States will keep the name, else it would cause confusion. Maybe rename yourselves to 'Republica del Cali'.
