Does the media have to much power? (political, election, elect)

Am I the only one that thinks it is absolutely insane that we have to wait for the media to call an election? Why should the media have that kind of power when they are corrupt to the core?

They are proving even this day that they are more irresponsible than ever.. how to fix? Dont know. They have actually just become a political arm and thats dangerous. They are fanning the flames of hate at this very moment.
