A political historian and professor who predicted that Donald Trump would win the presidency has a new bet: Trump will be impeached.
Historian who predicted Trump's win says he'll be impeached | TheHill

Says it will be the GOP Congress who kicks him out because they want someone they can control and who isn't so unpredictable.

A co-worker of mine said the same thing today. And the GOP would have the support from the MSM.

Or as thin-skinned and combustible. His love affair with thug dictators won't help.

But, I've heard people saying the same thing. We should have a pool on how long he lasts. The historian is correct--Trump is not going to change or "rise to the occasion." Never has and never will.

"...And I'm quite certain Trump will give someone grounds for impeachment, either by doing something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook...”

If he read the constitution he would know that impeachment requires high crimes, bribery, treason or high misdemeanors (present day felonies), and that precedent set by Bill's Wife's Husband allowed the felony of perjury to escape impeachment. Therefore as a simple matter, it's far fetched. Trump has no criminal charges now and the burden of bringing them after January jumped tenfold.

Do we really want Pence? Do we really want the guy who actually has a record against the LGBTQ community and women in charge or just the guy with a big mouth?

I predicted that here nearly a year ago.

Yep. Like Crazy Uncle Joe is to Obama, Pence is Trump's "insurance policy". If it ever came down to impeachment proceedings, I think it highly likely the Dems would vote against it just to try & keep Pence out of the driver's seat.

So when do the liberals that supported Hillary stop whining about the election? Trump won't be impeached. Remember that many, many of things predicted about Trump did not come true: Trump not a serious candidate. Trump not winning the nomination. Trump not winning the election. And, by the way, this guy making the prediction, many, many here made that same prediction and will now predict that Trump will not be impeached. Think that through carefully.

Pence will be even 10 times more Conservative than Trump will be the Libs WORST nightmare THe Libs may want to reconsider with their subversive tactics of getting Trump impeached or thrown out.

Trump can be persuaded far more than Pence can

Whoever thinks this is some "liberal tactic" didn't bother to read the article. Democrats can't impeach Trump, they won't have the majority in Congress to do so. If this happens per the Professor's prediction, it would be the GOP eating their own.

Personally, yes, I don't think Pence is any sort of improvement. I think the only thing in his favor is that he'd be predictably awful. Trump will continue to bring the element of surprise, maybe. We'll see once he's in office. So far, newly filling his transition team with GOP hacks and lobbyists, he doesn't seem like much of a change from the same old, same old.
