Asking for a recount isn't necessarily about winning. When trump raised the issue, he thought he could use it, and the trumpists would have screamed for recounts all over the country if he had lost. This is more about the integrity of the voting process in this country. So, 'winners', get over it, and realize that there are people who want to be sure the election was indeed #notrigged. ONly way to know is to do the recount. duhhhhh.
But I don't think this would ever happen. If it did, then we truly deserve banana republic status.
The Electoral College would start going into rounds of selecting a candidate and
keep voting until a 270 majority is reached. Some of the rebels have mentioned
Kasich or Cruz. The recount is really irrelevant. In fact, the Dems will stall so it
won't be completed by the 13th. of December. That would mean that the WI delegates
would be forbidden to attend and result in 10 less electoral votes for Trump. Same
routine for MI (16 electoral votes). Then all they would need is the 20 electoral
votes of PA to drop Trump below the 270 needed. Thus, the election would be decided
w/o Trumps 46 majority of electors. Result: Advantage Democrats who could then pick
their own candidate.
If you look at the 1860 electoral college battle you will find that Lincoln was
finally selected after numerous rounds.......along the same lines, the scheme is the same with some minor adjustments
this time around. Final outcome of the manipulating = The Civil War and hundreds of thousands
of dead young soldiers on both sides.
Elias’s post might fuel similar criticism. Notably, though, Clinton did not initiate the recount herself; Stein did, after raising millions of dollars to fund the effort and claiming this had been a “hack-riddled election.” Elias said that the campaign had not planned to ask for a recount itself, because it had found no actionable evidence of hacking.
The Clinton campaign had investigated the matter extensively. Elias said the campaign had “lawyers and data scientists and analysts combing over the results to spot anomalies” and had also “monitored and staffed the post-election canvasses — where voting machine tapes are compared to poll-books, provisional ballots are resolved, and all of the math is double checked from election night.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.ff7db5109180 He said the campaign had also met with outside experts and “attempted to systematically catalogue and investigate every theory that has been presented to us within our ability to do so.”
1) No our primaries aren't rigged. We democrats value fair elections and our rules and leaders have said the primary is fair. This isn't Bush 2000.
2) Oh WikiLeaks shows key Democrats rigging our primaries? Well it is to be expected since Bernie isn't a Democrat.
3) Trump is deplorable for saying that the general election could be rigged like our primary. I stand with Hillary in saying that we must accept the results of the election. We will abide by the results.
4) Oh my, Trump is winning, there must be rigging from Russia!
5) Look there is a disparity between paper and computer ballot counties, rigging! Oh, this is a bunch of Alt-Left nonsense that ignores the demographics in each county?
6) We want a full audit! Oh a full audit would look for illegal votes from non-US citizens? That could intimidate naturalized citizens from voting, we can't have that!
7) Recount, to ensure a fair election in a nonpartisan manner, except no recounts in states Hillary won by narrow margins! Make sure it is a simple recount so that we don't audit voters who might not be eligible to vote.
8) We must circulate the names of GOP electors in the electoral college, their names, addresses, kids names, ethnicities, etc...so that the Alt-Left can intimidate and threaten them into swaying the vote. We can do this, we can rig the Electoral College!

That was not an argument I made. I will also note that the recount effort is in Wisconsin.
For what it's worth, every single person in this thread who knows how to actually read the English language knew exactly what you said, and it was an excellent post. Naturally, Trumpheads just scanned over it in a few seconds looking for certain key words, and then just made up their own versions of what they wanted you to have said so that they could attack it.
It's all they know how to do; that's how they read... er, pardon me, "read"... newspaper and magazine articles too, which is why the United States of America just elected Benito Mussolini as President. Every one of them is going to go to their graves convinced that you said the election in those states was hacked by the Russians, and nobody will ever be able to shake them loose from that. Welcome to the New Amerika, land of the Angry Illiterate.

It's definitely the case. It's a big part of the reason why, over the last several months, I've come to the conclusion that every single person who voted for Trump is a complete imbecile. It's like trying to argue with small children.

Trump made one or two comments and Politico says he's raging? We still can't trust the MSM.
As usual Trump takes the low dirty road by tweeting all over the place that the recount is a scam and he's ashamed for Hillary. This begs the question, Why are Trump and his campaign staff so incensed over the recount? What are they afraid of? They could have just as easily said, "Hey, it's her constitutional right to call for a recount. We wish her well in her future endeavors but president will not be one of them."
But Trump and his posse have never shown any class either during the campaign or afterwards.
Trump and his supporters are a bunch of sore winners. If they would pause and think (instead of following every kneejerk reaction) they would welcome the recount because it would lay to rest most of the questions and solidify the results. Good grief, quit whining and let the recount proceed.

Michigan is certifying their results tomorrow - that's enough for me.
