Yes, Trump needs to restore America's faith that politicians aren't above the law.
What kind of precedent does it set when a SOS can blatantly disregard our national security repeatedly, and then lie to the American people and perjure themself with congress?

On Nov 22, Trump told the NY Times that he had no intention of pressing for an investigation of Hillary. Fine. He's The Prez, and he can make that choice.
But on Nov 26, Hillary announced that her campaign staff will participate in the recount(s). She won't contribute any money, but she will send people to monitor it (them).

Is the deal off? Should she have accepted Trump's statement of magnanimity and gone about her business? Has she shot herself in the foot again?!
Looks like it.
That choice should be up to impartial prosecutors at DOJ and be free from political pressure. The exact opposite happened when Bubba met with the Attorney General on the plane, she recused herself and the DOJ prosecutors, and the thing fell in Comey's lap.
