HOUSTON - Republican presidential hopeful John McCain said his remark that American troops could stay in Iraq for 100 years has been distorted, yet he still suggests a lengthy U.S. presence comparable to that in Korea and other countries. .... "I was talking about American presence after the war."... "No American argues against our military presence in Korea or Japan or Germany or Kuwait or other places, or Turkey, because America is not receiving casualties."...

Ironically, the most patriotic American congressman, Ron Paul, questions the motives of those military installations.

McCain is just trying to distort the truth of what he said... there isn't any "clearing" up but trying to reduce the damage he done when people realized what kind of person he is and shall be. So does he advocate if there are U.S. casualties to withdraw from Iraq? Retarded statement about casualties...

McCain wants our troops to stay in Iraq until its safe for them to stay in Iraq. Then they can stay in Iraq.

That's basically what his view comes down to.

That's funny, I thought a lot of Americans argued against our presence there. I must not be a "real" American then...and neither are Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan or the tens of thousands of other Americans that feel the same way.
