There have been millions spent by both sides on this race. Considering the likely runoff $$ millions more will likely be spent by both sides between now and June.

This is a traditionally conservative Republican district, however things do appear pretty tight which is why it is getting so much attention. It is also not your typical blue collar southern Republican district. This is a well educated white collar district that went from Romney +23.3 to Trump +1.5. A 22 point swing against Trump. The district did remain quite Republican downballot, though considerably less so than in the past.

The key factor in this race will be if the swing in the district will carry over to downballot races without an entrenched incumbent or if the GOP nature of the district will be enough to hold the seat despite Trump being a poor fit for the white collar district.

The Democrats problems with the working class can certainly merit discussion, but really has no relevance in this discussion of this district.

Default Georgia District 6 Election Machines Stolen; Democrat Candidate Does Not Live in District

Equipment stolen days before special election; Sec. of State: 'Unacceptable'

State officials are investigating after equipment was taken from a Cobb County precinct manager’s vehicle. According to Secretary of State Brian Kemp, the equipment was stolen on Saturday evening while the vehicle was parked at the Kroger on Canton Road.

Kemp’s office says Cobb County Elections waited two days to tell his office about the theft of the machines.

The four so-called ExpressPoll machines were the computers poll workers used to check-in voters, and check those off who cast ballots.

...
Kemp released the following statement Monday afternoon: “It is unacceptable that the Cobb County Elections Office waited two days to notify my office of this theft. We have opened an investigation, and we are taking steps to ensure that it has no effect on the election tomorrow. I am confident that the results will not be compromised.”

Great ... the shenanigans have started early.

Embarrassing: Jon Ossoff Can’t Vote Today

As Georgia-6 heads to the polls today, there’s one candidate who will be noticeably absent from his local polling place: Jon Ossoff. The 30-year-old multi-millionaire doesn’t live in the district he’s trying to represent in Congress, which means he’s going to miss the traditional Election Day photo-op of him voting for himself.

From what I've read Ossoff is a poster boy for (D) corruption (Establishment pick). This figure and just goes to show how inept the DNC is.

Read. The. Constitution.

I used to think this provision was a wrong thing to put in the Constitution, but after seeing abuses like gerrymandering - especially the post-2000 redistricting which put four incumbents in two Michigan districts - it makes sense to me.

If an incumbent gets redistricted, why shouldn't they be allowed to run where their constituents are - even if redistricting put those constituents in a different district?

Is that the case here - or are you making an assumption?

Default Georgia Special Election

How does a person run for a seat in a district they don't live in?

Jon Ossoff, the Democrat all of Hollywood has thrown 10's of millions behind in Georgia's special election to seat Price's old seat, doesn't even live in the district he is running for????

He grew up in the district.... But has not and does not live there, for the last 12 years. The district Ossoff wants to represent covers Atlanta’s wealthy suburbs. Ossoff attended Paideia, an Atlanta private school. His mom runs a SuperPAC and his dad a publisher.(the 1%)

How can this make sense? Well it is what it is.
In Georgia, they do not have to live in the district they want to represent.

O-KAY!!!!!!!

"The super Liberal Democrat in the Georgia Congressioal race tomorrow wants to protect criminals, allow illegal immigration and raise taxes....If you don't vote tomorrow, Ossoff will raise your taxes, destroy your health care and flood our country with illegal immigrants, Vote Republican."
--From The First Tweet

A rookie in Congress got that much game......?
