All this just adds to the interesting development that so many conservatives are trying to help Hillary win the nomination. She's getting help from:
Rush Limbaugh
Rupert Murdoch
The National Review
The Canadian Prime Minister's office
Fox News
Ann Coulter
I think the only reasoning is that they know she is beatable and will energize their base.
Of course they want Hillary to win! Because they know if she is nominated, McCain will win. After this vicious attack cycle from Clinton on her fellow democratic nominee, all Obama supporters will not support her. I for one will vote for McCain if Hillary wins. He will be the first Republican I will ever have voted for! And the conservatives know this!
Great story. I am telling you, the Canadians are in trouble once Obama takes office. Now he really is going to make them update the NAFTA agreement and amend it. Next time they're know better than to get involved in American Political Affairs and the American people.
Two attendees of that closed-door briefing, neither of whom are affiliated with any campaign, describe that event for ABC News. It was a room full of women involved in international trade. David Gergen served as a sort of master of ceremonies as various women members of the Cabinet talked up NAFTA, which had yet to pass Congress.
"It wasn’t a drop-by it was organized around her participation," said one attendee. "Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. Folks were pleased that she came by. If this is a still a question about what Hillary's position when she was First Lady, she was totally supportive of NAFTA.
I Keep telling Hillary Supporters she's a flip flopper. She's says one thing today, and then changes positions next week. She is such a typical POLITICAN. And she talks to us about bringing change. No thanks, she can keep her change.

David Gergen was just on CNN 10 minutes ago on Lou Dobbs' show. He said UNEQUIVOCALLY that Hillary always expressed misgivings about NAFTA and Obama is misrepresenting her.

Yeah, the guy who worked for bill clinton and would probably like to work in the whitehouse for hillary clinton if she ever got there. That's an independant source if I've heard of one.

Yes, she was against it before she was for it before she was against it, depending on whom she is addressing.
Maybe it's not a case of misgivings about NAFTA. It's more like indecision, sort of like the dirvers licenses for illegals, when she couldn't make up her mind.
there have been plenty of people saying she was not for NAFTA including Pat Bucanan
as far as Obama beating McCain
Obama has not been nominated yet
it is still up for grabs

I think the reality is that she says different things to different people - depending on what they want to hear. Clearly, to the people that were at this meeting, she said she was for it. Apparently when she was in the company of Mr. Gergen, she had misgivings. That's the point. She said different things to different audiences.
BTW, the words on my post weren't mine - they were quotes from the linked article and the people at the meeting.
Clinton supports any issue that benifits her politically. She distances herself from any issue that could hurt her politically. Even if she completely contradicts herself. Her moral compass is broken. I don't trust any thing that comes out of her mouth.
Hillary most definitely cannot be trusted on NAFTA or jobs for Americans because she was co-president when the deal was signed and she was most definitely in favor of it.
She also was in on many of the trips to China to make the deals that would send them jobs and put Americans out of work.
The problem with Hillary is that she actually does have some experience in the White House, but it sure wasn't fighting for jobs for Americans but to put Americans out of work.
Obama needs to hit her hard with her work on NAFTA.
