What about Jim Webb? His bio impressed me. I have in the past voted either Republican or Libertarian, but I would seriously consider Webb. Just please, no more first year senators.

he would never get the nomination. Many Democrats hate him since he is not leftist enough

In other words, he is obvious with his smarts and comes across as snide and condescending. That doesn't mean that he isn't qualified, but I can see that as a big negative.

But we elected crap in 2016, proving nominating crap doesn't matter.

Whether they nominate a reincarnated FDR or Elmer Fudd, they'll receive somewhere between 48% to 51% of the popular vote and the Republicans will receive between 46% and 50%. The winner will be decided by how about a half dozen legitimately competitive states fall.

My guess for 2020 would be either Booker or Kamala Harris, or some non-politician (a la Trump in 2016).
Air America was his thing, and he stopped once elected to the Senate

Why would the Trump working class base willingly vote for a pro-outsourcing free trader in Mike Pence? Pence was solely added onto the ticket to satisfy the religious right.

If Pence ran in the 2016 primaries, the Trump crowd would have viewed him no differently than any of the other pro-establishment hacks.

Biden and Cuomo have the best ticket...the rest should just give it up

I honestly think Warner would be among the strongest picks. The statement in that article was not a definitive no.

Booker would not do well in a general- he will be drawn as a tool of Wall Street and low on accomplishments.

It might be interesting if a Western or Midwestern Democrat gave it a serious try.

In all honesty there will be two main people on the ticket in 2020- Trump and 'not Trump.' I know people who voted Trump in the end simply because he was 'not Hillary.' Its what we come to when all the choices are ****ty.

Warren, oh god, she is terrible. I would even vote for Hillary over her.

I doubt Bernie will run again, since he'll be nearly 80 years old by then. Biden will also be very old.
