It will be the first chance for someone in the state to measure Trump promises vs accomplishments.

As always I think it really comes down to who actually shows up to vote. I predict Stabenow gets higher voter percentages than Clinton or Trump. That doesn't mean a win since those two performed so poorly across the board. But she is not going to run a campaign from 10000 feet like some Dems are apt to do.
She ran on it just fine in 2012 when her and Barack Obama outperformed the polls.

There aren't enough people left in Detroit to outvote the rest of the state. She's toast.

Why is it an "idiotcracy" for an American citizen to run for office. Especially to challenge the seat of a bought & paid for career politician.

You've never even heard of Debbie Stabenow before this Kid Rock nonsense.

Yeah, but that's pretty much all he knew.

You know Kid Rock personally?

Detroit is far from the only Democratic stronghold in the state of Michigan. You'd better do your homework.

Establishment politicians are not real popular in Michigan right now.

Establishment politicians aren't popular anywhere.

But the answer isn't to elect rank amateurs. I'd want my senator to at least have a college degree. Damn...is that too much to ask? I need to know that you know something about civics, foreign policy, economics, social policy, housing policy, military policy, business administration, law, energy policy....SOMETHING!

This whole idea that 'Bernie sitting at the middle of the bar downing a few beers is qualified to be a senator because he's a swell guy that gets his hands dirty at the shop' is a load of bunk. Sorry if that makes me a damn elitist, but I want to be governed by worldly, accomplished and knowledgeable people.

I'm a college educated, tax paying military veteran that considers himself to be at least somewhat worldly, and I know damn well that I'm not qualified to be a senator. Kid Rock is a high school educated, half ass rock/rap star that hasn't accomplished much else. Hell, just go to Buffalo Wild Wings and get your 35 year old shift manager to run for senate.

This is a joke. Kid Rock as a senator is a laughable concept. If the people of Michigan are that damn stupid, then so be it.

If you want to have a serious discussion, let's have it.

But if you're suggesting that a lawyer who is a double Ivy Leaguer and a former state and U.S. senator has exactly the same qualifications as some Rock/rap dude that finished high school at best and hasn't shown any known propensity to lead, govern, or even manage complicated affairs...then you live in a very different world than i do, and you're wasting my time.
