I heard he missed this filing deadline. Is this true? Can't remember where I read it.

From what I can tell for state offices the deadline in Michigan is next April, not completely sure if the same deadline holds true for Federal offices or not (deadlines can differ). However, I haven't seen anything to suggest the deadline for Federal offices have past or are even remotely close to the deadline.

Talking Kid Rock running for Senate in Michigan

He's a good candidate for the Pubs.

They could also go with Pat Boone and Meatloaf.

The GOP is just full of rock stars. And, as their followers point out in this forum continually, "They don't care about celebrities!"

The country is obsessed with celebrities, its not a Democrat or Republican thing. Ask all the folks that want Oprah and Michelle O. to run, its sad on both sides.

Kid Rock confirms Michigan Senate run | Fox News

Kid Rock

Quote from the New Yorker commentary:

"We're getting closer to a real life "Idiocracy" every damned day."

What makes you say that?

A comedian, Al Franken, is now a Senator.

Sonny Bono was a singer and song writer and became a Congressman.

Just because someone is in the entertainment industry does NOT make then ineligible to run for Congress.

They are ALL American citizens.

Heck, a community organizer became President. ANY American can run for political office.

It's happening.... It's here....

This was what scared me about Trump running. Using celebrity to justify a candidacy. It's not good. When will a Kardashian be president? What about Kanye? Maybe Taylor Swift will give it a go?

I watched the Kid Rock/Dan Rather interview on youtube. He's a real guy. If he runs, I bet he wins Michigan easily.
