Should the Democratic Party move farther to the left and nominate somebody like Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, Tulsi Gabbard, etc? Or, would the Democrats have more success nominating somebody more towards the center, perhaps from the South, in order to capture independents and some Republicans who are dissatisfied with Trump? What type of candidate do you think will have a greater shot at beating Trump?

Republicans seem to think that Trump will be re-elected handily if the Democrats nominate somebody too far left. Warren or Gabbard seem to be their dream candidates. I tend to think that for 2020, a centrist to center left candidate would have the most success. Somebody about where Hillary was on the issues but without the baggage or polarization that she brought to the table. As far as who that would be, I have no idea.

So what do you think?

haven't you heard? The liberals and Democrats feel that Trump is so hated that you can nominate anyone in 2020 and win. You got this in the bag

in 2016, yes.

I think the party is far to fractured to nominate a centrist and have them win. Which is sad because Jason Kander is now the darling of the left, but is seen as a centrist, and im not sure if Berniecrats would follow him.

Hillary. She makes the saltiest liberal tears when losing. There is no prominent member of the DNC who has any foot in reality. The DNC isn't interested in finding anyone like that.

Left on economic issues, liberal but less obsessed with social issues like trans gendered bathrooms.
