Good news out of the Iowa state conventions. Guess what Obama haters? He's not going away, events of the last few days have just made him and his true supporters stronger
Quote:
Sen. Barack Obama picked up seven more pledged delegates on Saturday as thousands of Iowans took part in county conventions, state Democratic officials said. The delegates had been among the 14 won Jan. 3 by former senator John Edwards, who has since dropped out of the Democratic presidential race. Election-night projections showed Obama getting 16 delegates and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton 15.
With the other seven standing firm for Edwards at the county conventions, and one delegate still unallocated, Obama's camp claimed 23 delegates from Iowa to 14 for Clinton.
The result gives Obama a lead of 114 pledged delegates over Clinton, the Associated Press reported.
"This is a very significant improvement for us," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe told reporters. "We both fought as hard as we could here."

And that’s what’s generating frustration and hysteria among the feminists in the Clinton camp...

This latest scandal is going to cost him some votes, because lets face it; people are people. But no matter how much the Clinton camp would like to believe this is knock out blow, the truth of the matter is this is a minor setback for him at best.

I agree… You can see that by the national poll numbers… Clinton has narrowed the gap between hers and that of Obama’s.

The advantage to Obama however is, that his preacher problem is happening now and not later in the campaign, and Clinton will never catch up mathematically to Obamas elected Delegate count.

You are forgetting the super delegates who will certainly remember all the nasty comments his reverend made.

Those supers aren't idiots(at least I hope not), if they want a Democrat in the Whitehouse, they'll vote for whoever has the most pledged delegates. To vote otherwise...well lets just say the dems should just concede to McCain right now if that's what they intend to do.

There are some who say this was intentional. It is much better that this happened now instead of a few days before Pennsylvania, or North Carolina, or November.

Someone realized that this was going to come up at some point, and if you look at the calendar this was the best possible timing. There is plenty of time to recover.

And BTW, he picked up 9 delegates.

At Kos, they're now claiming a pickup of 10 delegates and that Hillary's attacks appear to have backfired.

"In Hillary's great victory in Ohio, she netted plus 9. Today in Iowa, Politico is reporting that the final number is Obama plus 10 for the county conventions. So, Obama wiped out the Ohio gain today."
