I see in your link, Newsmax claims Wright has an "anti white theology" Yeah, we whites have had it rough. I don't know about you, but I don't feel threatened by the Rev. comments, in fact I think he was spot on. Newsmax has an agenda, a sickening one at that.

Believe it or not, you can care about your country and still condemn the disgraceful treatment of blacks that this country has fostered throughout it's history. Some of you apparently need to learn that dissent is one of the highest form of patriotism.

apparently you do not realize that there can also be white dissent against black racist remarks. as a white person you might not be offended by wright's remarks, but as a white person and an american i am offended and certainly have the right to be offended. he stands up on a pulpit and criticizes america and americans so he will just have to take the heat now, along with obama. this is a two-way street here.

Believe it or not, you can care about fairness and equality without ranting and being mired in race-fixated anger and bitterness. While Wright and his minions complain and moan, most African Americans simply get on with their lives and work hard to improve. Wright's rants are a slap in the faces of the millions of middle-class and upper-class African-Americans who succeed and thrive in this country.

"Dissent" must have a purpose and a finite, achievable goal; Wright's rhetoric is more like dissent for the sake of dissent. If it wasn't, he wouldn't have to use invective that attempts to demonize African-Americans who are solidly middle-class through their own hard work. See, they don't NEED or necessarily want the Jeremiah Wrights to rant for them. They moved on and ARRIVED a long time ago; they were our neighbors, my best friends, my father's coworkers THREE DECADES AGO.

Accepting divisive and abusive rhetoric just because it's delivered by an African-American preacher and because one is afraid to disagree with it shows a deep lack of discernment. Bill Cosby and other black leaders have protested this sort of abusive treatment of their community.
