Nobody would buy it, especially this late in the presidential race, but on the other hand, Barrack Obama get's a free pass it seems, and I'm not just talking about the sound bites of the speeches given by Jeremiah Wright. Just look at TUCC's mission statement:

And where does their loyalty lie?

For crying out loud, this is the church's mission statement -- look for yourselves:

Trinity United Church of Christ (http://www.tucc.org/about.htm - broken link)

Who would a member of this congregation represent? How many Asians, Latinos, or Whites attend this church? How can somebody possibly deny knowing the church's fundamental mission statements? Who would a member of this congregation unite? What sort of "change" could we expect from a president who's a member of this sort of church?
their church is a slap in the face to all of the americans who died trying to liberate african americans from slavery in the united states during the civil war. maybe they could go back to africa and liberate blacks from slavery there, where it is still being practiced today.

I'm not having a big problem with it either. Many churches are cultural in nature. Native American, Russian, Hispanic... what's wrong with a black cultural church?

that's an incredibly naive statement.

there is nothing wrong with a black cultural church, but why do they have to be anti-american?

What is wrong is that this church preaches HATE.
Jeremiah Wright and his racist friend Farrakhan preach hate against Jews, Whites, etc.

Obama says he is for unity, yet has attended this church for 20 years that preaches hate and separatism. Unity and separatism are opposing issues and do not square. Obama is having some trouble double talking his way out of this.

Most mainstream churches (even Russian/Greek Orthodox churches, latino dominated Catholic parishes, etc.) don't have doctrines based on race. This church is focused in many ways on race.

So, Obama supporters, what would you say if Bush or McCain or someone went to an exclusively White Church? If "Black" was replaced with "White" in all of the statements from this church and its preacher would you call it racist? Be honest...

Have you seen the news clips? Have you looked at the website? Have you read on the web past remarks by Farrakhan about Jews?

quotes follow:
We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.

Not God bless America. God damn America! It's in the Bible, for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating its citizens as less than human!"

just two quotes and there are plenty more out there. if those are not anti-american sentiments, i don't know what would be considered anti-american.
