John McCain, during his taxpayer funded campaign photo op through the middle east, demonstrated again that despite his continual advocation for more and more war, he still hasn't bothered to educate himself on the circumstances of this one.

Quote:
Pressed to elaborate, McCain said it was "common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran, that's well known. And it's unfortunate." A few moments later, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, standing just behind McCain, stepped forward and whispered in the presidential candidate's ear. McCain then said: "I'm sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al-Qaeda."
A McCain Gaffe in Jordan | The Trail | washingtonpost.com
Al Queda is a Sunni extremist group. Iran is run by Shi'ites. As we might have learned by now, they aren't getting along too well in Iraq. As the Shi'ite Iranian government is interested in propping up the Shi'ite Iraqi government, they are most definately not training the insurgents who are murdering Shias.

The only area where John McCain can claim any knowledge is in foreign policy. He wants our soldiers who have already contributed so much to save his pride, to stay there another 100 years. Yet he still hasn't begun to understand the basic drivers of the conflict raging within this country?

While the Dems duke it out, McCain has managed to skate by despite showing an astonishing lack of substance on just about everything. It's about time people start paying attention.

Not quite as senile as Reagan, but darn close!

I wonder if the MSM will let him slide on this, as they have on just about everything else:

Straight talker

Wanted Rumsfeld fired

Cleared in Keating 5

Those jobs (in Detroit) are coming back

etc.

Next thing you know he'll be talking about the B-17 gunner who was crushed when the plane landed in England with him still in the bubble.

He's not as bad as grampa (Abe) Simpson, not as funny either. Although Abe would probably not want to stay in Iraq for another 100 years.

While Obama is out here tackling the domestic issues facing this country, McCain is out in the middle east trying to make a case to invade Iran. This guy is the worst train-wreck -in- waiting

McCain is the second worse candidate the GOP could have managed to put up. The worst is Huckabee.

I prefer Huckabee due to his anti-payroll tax policy. More taxing power to the states. If he were elected, I woud be able to net $ 800 more to my monthly income. But i'm still stuck paying over $ 400 in federal taxes semi-monthly. simply SAD.

So, it turns out, this isn't the first time McCain has demonstrated he hasn't a clue about the forces driving this war he wants so many more Americans to die for.

Haven't we tried this for 5 years now, pushing forward in a war despite being led by a man who hasn't the faintest idea of the factions driving the insurgency, yet still firing generals who disagree with him? Elect McCain and get the same result. Dogged stupidity paired with blind stubbornness = more dead US soldiers.

The Iraq war was based on misinformation and lies and now here we have a candidate who's all for war with Iran that can't even get the facts straight. We'll be going to war with Iran under McCain and no one will even know why.
