That's an interesting attempt at lessening the burn of how badly Republicans got destroyed last night. Dems picked up the most seats in the VA house last night since 1899. That's a very significant win.

I don't think anybody is denying the president's base still supports him. But there's that issue of the ~60-70% who make up the non-base.

I love how the vapid Trump supporters on this thread are trying so hard to claim that this election was no big deal and that any celebrating (or gloating) is pre-mature, when if this election had gone the other way they would be typing away hysterically and often about how "Lib-tards" lost, and this proves that Trump is the Second Coming of Ronald Reagan, taking every opportunity to rub the opposition's faces in it.
Let's face it, the majority of Trump's base are white, non-college educated, blue collar workers who form their political views based on little more than bumper stickers, populist platitudes (which are mostly lies), right-wing echo chambers, and fear of change and cultural/ethnic diversity. Rather than the Second Coming of Reagan, Trump's base today is more reflective of the Know-Nothing party (Know-Nothing Party) We can only hope that history repeats itself and it ends in the same embarrassing way for them.
I hope this election is a sign that the adults are finally coming back into the room.
