I dont need to an article like this to tell me Obama leans communist and mostly socialist views. I look at his policies and political campaign ideas on his website. His view of government is big central government. More control over individual incomes and more taxes on labor to pay for more social programs. Of course hillary is just a bad, but everyone to busy taking about both of them being black and a women I would rather debate the policies and their ideas on government.

Sweetie, you are confusing the Trib with the Sun Times. The Trib has gotten more moderate over the years.

But her method of mothering inspired him to write these rather angry passages against his "mother's race". Doesn't that disturb you at all? It really doesn't sound like she was very good at being a mother. Not if she chose to move back to Indonesia and leave Barack to be raised by her parents. In fact, she sounds like a lousy and selfish mother for putting her needs before those of her son. And by the age of 12 or 13, Barack was very aware of racial differences and feeling that he was a different race from his mom. That's kind of sad.

Dreams From My Father - "I CEASED TO ADVERTISE MY MOTHER'S RACE AT THE AGE OF 12 OR 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

Dreams From My Father- " I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER'S RACE".

Dreams From my Father - "The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN AND APART"

Dreams From My Father - "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER'S IMAGE , THE BLACK MAN, THE SON OF AFRICA, THAT I'D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF.

hard not to see a difference when u are black and your mother is white!!

Imagined that the kid would have been abused for being neither black nor white; leaving him in Hwaii would have been the best option

He just can't reconcile the fact that he was raised as a spoiled white child in Hawaii. His mom sounds like a real pistol, very self absorbed. She must have been a hoot to hang around with. It seems to me that Barack Obama is the ultimate chameleon. He is easily influenced and fungible. He's constantly reinventing himself. Only now, I don't even think he knows who he is. He's much more influenced by Michelle and the Church he attends.
