Your role model was your mother. Obama's role model should have been his dad, i.e. therefore the problems, which I can well understand. Your situation is not the same as his. Plus not everyone reacts the same. The main thing is that whatever he went through, he turned out just fine, so it really has no bearing.


If he loved his mother consistently, then why did he write those angry hatefilled comments about her race, and his not being of the same race as her, and negative things about the white race in general? Obama was 34 years of age when that book was published. At 34 years old, you can't use youthful rebellion as an excuse for those sentiments of his.

He was 34 when the book was published saying how he struggled as a youth and was courageous enough to admit the troubled feelings some kids have at a certain stage in their life.

You should read better and not accuse wrongly. I spoke about one other person but I'm sure there are many others like that if Obama's grandmother thought the same and my in-laws thought the same. Another way to see it is to be encouraged by the fact that Obama has a much broader perspective. His vision extends from his own roots to that of the rest of the world.

I wrote that myself after spending 4 1/2 hours researching Obama's bio online. There is a lot of information about Stanley Ann. Here are some more tidbits:

* Stanley Ann's father considered himself a socialist. He moved the family away from their Kansas home to the west coast so that Stanley Ann could attend a high school that employed two fanatical leftist teachers. Stanley Ann spent many hours studying privately with one of them who reportedly seduced her when she was 17.
* The move to Hawaii was planned because, at that time, the U of HI had become a gathering point for the far left radicals including the American Workers Party, American Communist Party, The Black Panthers and other leftist fringe groups. It also drew communists and socialist from other countries. Both Obama's natural father and his stepfather were communists who came to study at the U of HI.
* Frank Marshall Davis was a black poet and communist labor organizer who lived near the U of HI. He was in his late 50's when Stanley Ann, then 19 enrolled at the U of HI. They became good friends when Stanley Ann became active in the leftist groups there. Some have suggested that there may have been a romantic relationship. Stanley Ann was known to have many lovers within the movement.
* There is no doubt that when Obama returned to HI to live with his grandparents he was directed to Frank Davis. Some believe that Stanley Ann arranged it. Others have suggested that her father did.
* What is particularly curious is that Frank Davis, known Communist labor organizer, poet, former black newspaper writer and editor had no visible source of income while living in one of the most expensive cities in the world--Honalulu. His poety would not have been enough to support his lifestyle. Some have suggested that his income was supplimented by the Communist Parety, USA to organize and teach young black radicals.

Even today if I feel uncomfortable with someone, I avoid them. Isn't that what our conscience tells us to do, avoid things we think aren't good or right?
