He's not rebuilding his reputation after all of this. He's done. Time to retire maintaining whatever shreds of dignity he has left.

Wistful thinking. He won a majority of the white male Alabama vote. They like his sort, apparently.

I think he's all done.
Nobody forgets child abuse, and there are lots of other Republicans in Alabama who could do as well with Roy's voters. This is Moore's 3rd loss in a row in a general election.

I think the reasons he won the Republican primary were odd and so rare that in a more typical election, Moore wouldn't do as well as he did. I'm pretty sure a younger, more urban conservative contender who's more in touch with the city voters would beat him.

Moore will be 73 when the next election rolls around, and that's really old for a freshman Senator. Most first-term Senators are 15 to 25 years younger.

So glad he's done. We don't need people like that in the U.S. Senate.

Yup.

The disgusting creep won a majority of the white female vote as well.

Actually, she did concede that same night, around 2:30 am. She waited until the next day to give a public speech which is perfectly reasonable since most people weren't up to listen to it in the wee hours.

Besides, this thread isn't about Hillary Clinton.

It's about Roy Moore refusing to accept defeat, despite the votes and despite the fact that even his GOP buddy the AL Sec of State could find no legal reason to not certify Doug Jones who has already been sworn in.

This is just part and parcel of Moore's long standing history of thinking that he's entitled to what he wants, and he doesn't have to follow the rules or listen to someone who says no to him.

I agree. He likes being in the spotlight too much. At the very least, I'd expect him to continue his speech-making circuit.

He's not gonna content himself hanging around the house and mowing the lawn.
