Which side has the most to win or lose in the primaries for starters? With the exception of an presidentual year who turns out to vote in the primaries has little if any impact on the general election? Are I right on that one? At this stage who is voting early means nothing or very little. Oh and the article appeared in the Houston paper which is something else again.
The same was reported for Dallas county. The turn out for Democrats exceeded that of Republicans. However, the surrounding counties showed Republicans exceeding Democrats.
I hope Trump heads right down there and helps the GOP out . After all, he did so great for Roy Moore !
When Trump shows up, it is like the kiss of death for the Republican party. They probably have told him Air Force one is in the shop for repairs so that he can't travel anywhere and ruin their chances in another election.
Looks like the tide is turning, and every day Trump does more and more to make that happen.
It will be interesting to see the numbers from Tuesday, if the trend holds up. However, when one gets down to it, there are still more Republican voters than Democratic voters here in Texas.
I also found it interesting that, for the first time in 25 years, the Democrats have fielded a challenger in all 36 Congressional districts.
I imagine Governor Abbott will win his bid. However, our resident Canadian Senator, Ted Cruz, may be in some trouble.
Turn out for early voting measures nothing about winners and losers. Most people do early voting these days. The lines are way longer than on election day.
The first Tuesday after there first Monday in November will tell the tale.
IMO, there has not been any decent new candidates in Harris county in years. This year, I would be satisfied with any of the 4 top runners in the Congressional district 7 race.
But, not many of my neighbors give a damn about a primary. They think their vote doesn't matter or it is God's will.
Sometimes early and primary voting just ain't all that big of a deal.
