It's an AP story (picked up by conservative Boston Herald in the linked article):

Quote:
WASHINGTON — Experts in government secrecy law see almost no possibility of criminal action against Hillary Clinton or her top aides in connection with now-classified information sent over unsecure email while she was secretary of state, based on the public evidence thus far.

Some Republicans, including leading GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, have called Clinton's actions criminal and compared her situation to that of David Petraeus, the former CIA director who was prosecuted for giving top secret information to his paramour.
Legal experts see no criminal trouble for Clinton thus far | Boston Herald

I am looking forward to hearing the legal expertise of posters of this esteemed forum. Please refrain from typing stuff like, "but, but, it's common sense" or "but, but, we know she's a liar".

That article was pure conjecture and spin made entirely on What-ifs. Are you seriously going to believe what the SD has to say about this? That's funny.

Documents don't have to be marked by someone as "classified". Most of the information that gets all the way up to Sec of State is secret. She was not receiving unsolicited spam coupons from Home Depot.

Who cares about legal trouble? She's running for president. Just like the bridge ended Christie's hopes of a serious presidential run, the emails are killing Hillary's run. In the public mind it's all about perception, and except for die-hard Democrats, Hillary is over.

Except Hillary is polling way ahead of Chris Christie (or any other Republican) in the polls right now. This is playing out exactly like how Benghazi was supposed to completely destroy her and lead to her imprisonment. It's just a right-wing echo chamber thing at this point.

So why are Democrats trying to convince Joe Biden to jump into the race?

I'm sure some Democrats are. They want to have options. They want debate. They don't want to hand Hillary the nomination on a silver platter.

Believe it or not, many of us "liberals" aren't exactly enamored with Hillary either. We just find the idea that this email "scandal" is going to derail her campaign pretty laughable.

For the record, I'm supporting Bernie Sanders for now.

Let's See

  • Hillary did not use government email servers to conduct State Department Business.
  • Hillary did use a private server to conduct State Department Business.
  • State Department, by definition, deals with classified emails. Proof? Julian Bradley Manning was prosecuted for espionage for stealing, in part classified State Department business, and Julian Assange is currently holed up in the Bogotá Embassy in London to avoid USA persecution for putting it on web.
So where was this classified State Department email handled? These are the possibilities.

  1. Hillary is lying.
  2. There was no classified State Department business during the 4 years that Hillary ran the state department.
Option 2 is impossible because we proved it exists.

It's not rocket science.

Yep. The right has screamed SCANDAL!!! SCANDAL!!! so often when it comes to Hillary that no one is paying attention anymore except the echo chamber. But I suppose if you live in that echo chamber, as it seems many here on C-D do, you believe every single one of them to be true.

How sad that they are going to be disappointed yet again.

You might want to let the FBI in on this. They are spending considerable resources because they have reason to believe that a crime was committed.
