Fortunately, the media is not reporting the decline in the Democratic party. Since most Democrats are not well informed, they will continue to read headlines only, and those headlines will continue to hammer away at Trump with an emphasis on impeachment.
So Democrats, thinking they have won, will not vote.
And Republicans will win.
I agree completely. And honestly I think this played into President Trump's victory in 2016. The media were all against Trump, which I think helped make some leftists complacent. Keep it up, Clinton News Network!

Exactly. What we can take heart over is Trump AND his supporters tend to be seniors so this too shall pass. It will be a big mess to clean up but a sad, terrible blip in the history books. The latest joke of all time is Trump complaining about immigrant parents being separated from their children, which is his own policy. Trump is complaining about his own policy as if he is talking about a different person. Absolutely insane and his supporters lap it up.

Are you kidding? Democrats did absolutely NONE of that whey they controlled the WH, Senate and House. Absolutely nothing in their behavior has ever indicated they offer any of that.

Fixed that for you. Try sticking your head out of your liberal echo chamber and see reality. Liberals are the most insane people in the US, everywhere they have control you can clearly see it in the laws they pass. It's clear to anyone not drowning in liberal cool aid.
I thought the Dims were poised to easily take the House, they still might but I think now the likelihood is greatly reduced. In fact, it might be that Republicans turn around the normal pattern of the opposing party of the President gaining 40 seats in the non-Presidential election cycle.

No, there would be no checks and balances, not there are.
'No checks and balances' does not = the current situation.
Republicans currently have neither a 2/3 majority, nor even a weaker filibuster proof majority in the U.S. Senate.

While that's historically accurate, going forward I doubt that will be true. Dems have chosen identity politics (of which such identities are currently directly opposed to each other, see examples below) OVER supporting the working class, with a significant portion of Dem voters going extreme left-wing to the point of eradicating the First, Second, and other Amendments, AKA Constitutional Rights.

I agree with you in concept but I think Trump changes this pattern because he is anything but a typical Republican and he in fact is kept in check by Republicans like McCain and his own Justice Dept and the Swamp Establishment left over from Obama and others that are a check on him.
