Some were thinking that as a possibility on the Governor's race, but that isn't going to be a competitive race. With the amount of Democrats running in some races there was a bit of a fear that the Democrats would get more votes in some of the competitive races, but the GOP candidates would come out 1 and 2 due to their votes being spread across fewer candidates. As a result some competitive seats would wind up with 2 Republican candidates despite the Democrats receiving more votes. That didn't happen.

Just released, over 2 million mail-in ballots (mostly from LA county) still uncounted. More mail-in votes continue to arrive. If all those mail-ins are verified, this would mean a huge turn out for a state primary. Turns out there is huge enthusiasm, so much that people mailed ballots in instead of waiting for the polls to open. A good friend told me members of the RNC got on emergency conference when they heard the numbers...they were worried, to put it mildly.

This is why I didn't understand all of the hand-wringing and glee over empty polling stations.

Why would anyone waste time at a polling station when they could just mail in their ballots?

Clearly voters are not as apathetic as some reports would have us believe.

The same reason some of us go to stores on Black Friday rather than use Amazon?

I actually like seeing people and getting out of the house.
