What do corporations have to do with individuals simply identifying as Democrats ?

It wont affect Bernie. It will affect future independents who might see the Democratic party as the only solution for change as third party politics in America is crushed by the two party duopoly.

All the rich guys in the county couldn't support Bernie's pipe dreams if all their wealth was confiscated. that spells disaster for everyone rich and soon to be poor.

So then all they have to do is register as Democrats.

In reality, Bernie's proposals were less radical than Franklin D Roosevelt, the most popular president in the past 100 years. FDR would be a communist extremist compared to Bernie. The only deluded one here is you.

Why don't the Republicans invite him to run on the GOP ticket?

Because he's not a Republican, right?

Why is it too much to ask that a candidate commit to the party of the ticket they want to run under? He wants the support of the Democratic party, including their infrastructure and their funding, but will not commit to the party.

His choice, and he obviously made it.

Again, I like Bernie, but I understand the party's position on this.

This

the entire point of political parties is to pool resources and rally behind one person at each level.

The worst part of the argument most people are making here is that most State/local parties already do this. running as an independent for office bars you from being a primary candidate the next immediate cycle.

They rely on Bernie far more than he has relied on them.
