“Her aspiration is to be the president,” Blanca Ocasio-Cortez, 55, said at the candidate’s childhood home in the Bronx.
“She has been thinking about politics since she was a teenager. She would read historical and political books old and new. She would engage in political discussions passionately.”

I thought the same thing! Pretty amazing what she accomplished. I hope she wins the seat in November--it looks very likely that she will.
I think this was a case of Crowley mistakenly thinking a) he "had it won" and was complacent b) the districts he represents have outgrown his representation both ethnically and culturally. A hard lesson for him, for sure. But he had a great run, so time to move on.

I don't know anything about her, but hearing a few of her positions like calling ICE terrorists and wanting to abolish the agency, is not going to help the (D's) overall.
