Once Trump fills Kennedy spot, plus 1-2 more which seem likely given justice ages, the issue will be off the table for decades, as we will all be able to rest easy, knowing we have wonderful, Originalist intent interpretation of Constitution, SCOTUS justices. A clear conservative majority..enduring.

Honestly think the democrats if they have all 3, president/senate/house will expand the supreme court to 11 or 13 & destroy the filibuster. There will be a political shakeup in 2020 after Trumps impeachment or riding out his term in limbo after Mueller releases his report. Both sides will be much more polarized and will break a lot of traditions of how the federal government has functioned.

We need a fair and balanced court which benefits all of us not just conservatives or liberals.

The bolded would require a Constitutional amendment, I believe. They would never get the states to go along with that. I think you are also dreaming about the rest like it could ever happen.

Such a politicized and short sighted idea. 8 years after this brilliant idea when there is a big shift and Republicans have full power, how much are you going to cry and whine when they change the size back to 9 and fire the 2-4 candidates that your dear leader assigned to the court.

This country needs to stop running the branches the way Enron ran their accounting department and deal with the actual issues in front of us.

Yep, that would make it as fair and balanced as Fox News.
