If Trump is still on the ballot we need a counterpuncher who can make him look like the amateur that he is. I can't imagine Warren or Biden doing that but Avenatti is smart as a whip and will make Trump sound like the buffoon that he is in any debate... I think he should just go for it.

"“What I fear for this Democratic Party that I love is that we have a tendency to bring nail clippers to gunfights,” Avenatti said at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding, an annual party fundraiser. “When they go low, I say: We hit harder.”"

Avenatti likely has too much baggage
But he is charismatic
And as a Dem I am not seeing anyone out there that really has that verve
I think they are going to have to go to a regional candidate and grow that persona
There is too much competition within the national Dems (like Kamala Harris and Bloomberg and even Biden or Warren)
You don't want to see the same number of challengers for the nomination that the GOP had to deal with--that is one reason Trump was able to command the field--
Too much competition dilutes the difference...self-destruction if there are many running IMO

I agree with Avenatti that we can't bring "nail-clippers" but if seeing Trump actually take office and try to run the bureaucracy of the American government has shown us anything it is that alt-right or not, greedy or not, someone who is POTUS has to be POLITICALLY wise and experienced in the way government itself works...

Avenatti would be just as much an outsider as Trump was
Whether Avenatti has the methods and ability to learn all that -- to attract people to him who do--
That Is really debatable and at this point I would have to say he is as impotent as Trump...
Is he smarter than Trump? Almost anyone is...
Is he charismatic--I think he knows how to command an audience and make effective verbal ripostes
But can he manage effectively one of the largest "companies" in the world???
That is a big ask IMO...

I would vote for him but I need to see the skeletons in his closet first. No more grifters and con artists. I've had enough of the corruption on both sides.

Avenatti undeniably lacks political experience - but he knows law, and he is both intelligent enough to recognize his lack of governmental experience - and humble enough to do what would be necessary to counter that lack: self-education and seeking out assistance from others who DO have both knowledge and experience - and who are ethical and dedicated to the well-being, freedom and stability of our country and its people.

Avenatti is something of a showman - but so is Trump, and Avenatti certainly seems to be far more intelligent, honest and better informed in general than is Trump. He also appears to have a lot of dedication and determination, plus patriotism and disgust at the corruption that's presently all too evident in government.

Despite his positive qualities, Avenatti is still not the ideal candidate - but he is miles better than Trump and I'd vote for him without hesitation, should he win the Democratic nomination (or Republican nomination, for that matter). But I hope a still stronger candidate will arise, who has the experience Avenatti lacks and who lacks the flaws Avenatti undeniably has.

Completely agree. I'm guessing he has an interesting background to say the least.

I disagree, look at the big tub of lard that occupy the White House. Avenatti has less baggage.

Michael Avenatti graduated first in his class at George Washington School of Law. The school established an award in his name. He has had a stellar career. There is a lot of info about him on Wikipedia. He has won some outstanding court cases.

I would prefer Gov. John Hickenlooper or Gov. Jay Inslee as President because of their extensive political and management experience. However, Avenatti would be able to give as good as he would get from Trump on the campaign trail and especially in the debates. He’s well-known now because of the Stormy case and name recognition helps. It helped Trump a lot. People perceived Trump as the tough businessman he portrayed on “The Apprentice,” when actually he was/is a con artist.

I sure hope the Dems don’t nominate Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren (women) or Joe Biden (too old). Dems need someone who can WIN!!

Still won't win though.
How come Elizabeth Warren cannot get away from the “high cheekbones/American Indian” remark, but Trump gets away with lies every single day?
