It depends on which groups you are talking about. I won't say a significant number, but a certain group of Southern Baptists do consider themselves "Red Letter" Christians - those who form political opinions based on their interpretation of the actual words of Jesus Christ in the Bible (which are usually printed in red ink for emphasis). These RLCs usually tend to vote for Democratic candidates because of their commitment to social justice, economic equality, and environmental initiatives - things which reflect The Sermon on the Mount and similar words of Jesus.

This is all I have to say about most of the comments on this thread, which has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, which is OBAMA IS LEADING in the current polls.I hope ALL you folks talking all this TRASH about Obama, come back on this forum when the election is over. And start using the term, President Obama.Repeat that 100 times before you go to bed every night. They say it only takes two weeks for an action to become a habit.

Thanks, even though I live amongst a large population of southern Baptists I assumed they all hated Obama. Turns out maybe I am out of touch with this group and lumped them all together in Obama hater boat. I hope you are correct.

Southern Baptists-I know your out there.......your thoughts......

You better hope not. I have a friend that is a Mormon and she said that she has to do whatever the church tells her or be kicked out. The Mormon church runs their life. She doesn't seem to mind though. But if they say jump; she jumps.
