No idea. I only remember one of those and was only around for 2 of them. I think the 2016 election reminds me the most of 1980 knowing that the propaganda wing of the democratic party aka the media did the same thing to Reagan as it did to Trump and 2020 is going to be like 1984.
Trump, much like Nixon, was elected as a backlash against a changing culture. Trump is the backlash against same-sex marriage, transgender visibility, and our first non-white President. Nixon was the backlash against the sexual revolution, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the broader 1960s counterculture movement.
Both elections were centered around the perceived idea that America isn't what it once was and that an authoritarian was needed to force society back to an earlier golden age. Both elections had the 1950s in mind in terms of when America was actually great.
How about 1828, Andrew Jackson defeats John Quincy Adams.
JQA was a certified American blue-blood whose father had been president. Jackson was a crude, rude soldier whose support came from the rabble. When Jackson was inaugurated, his supporters stormed the White House and trashed it, tracking mud everywhere and destroying elegant furniture. Jackson escaped out a back door and went for a steak dinner.
This is the first election where the MSM lost the narrative and we didn't get two establishment career politicians crammed down our throats again. It was clear they were gearing up for a JEB vs Hillary match.
Trump changed everything.
It's sad there's still a sizeable contingent who still believe the MSM without thought or question because they are still caught up in the false war of liberal vs conservative which was also conjured up by the same MSM.
