In states that held senate elections last night, the Dems won the popular vote by 10%. The writing is on the wall for the GOP.

Overall, the results were someone as expected...the Democrats actually came away with at least something (the house) but certainly less than they'd hoped for. *shrug* I wasn't going to lose any sleep over it either way.
Yes, I agree they were pretty close to what was expected. The polls did a decent job, overall.

Which is typical of midterm elections. Thank goodness the Founders’ design has protected us from the tyranny of the ignorant masses yet again.

Oh please, spare us. Yes, mid-terms - especially in a president's first term - are heavily about the president.

today people are pissed about congress not passing or even submitting bills that will help America.... the ACA repleal/replace for example... they ran on it... they (congress) failed to pass anything to fix the ACA or replace it...
LOL, completely backwards. If that was true republicans would have *gained* seats not just in the senate but also the house.

Republicans are trying their best to put lipstick on this pig, but it was a huge victory for the Democrats last night. I am especially pleased to see the blue wall return to the upper midwest. The demographics going forward are younger, more women, more diversity. The GOP has had its last hurrah.

Yet the GOP not only managed to keep the Senate they increased their numbers!! So in terms of governing, perhaps you can explain why that 10% matters!

Given that the outcome of the midterms is based solely on popular vote, last nights results were very much inline with what I expected (based on democrats winning the popular vote in 2016).

All things considered, I would call it a wash.

It doesn't. The GOP gain was to be expected. What is surprising, if anything, is how small it was considering the number of dem seats that were in play this time. But it is significant in that it shows how strongly the country is shifting away from the GOP demographic. It is just another data point showing that the GOP is finished.

Huh? LOL, I don't care! Democrat or Republican, they're all vile. Makes no odds which one is ruling over Wisconsin. Walker lost. Good for you. No complaints here.

I was saying "Neutral Party" may not be the most fitting screen name for somebody who is so blatantly partisan. It'd be like Brad Pitt having the screen name "Sexy Teen Girl". Just doesn't fit. I will continue to find Neutral Party and their absolute lack of neutrality highly amusing, and that's about it.
