I think Americans are ready for a black or women president but I am not voting for either. My first choice would've been Ron Paul. The reason being is Ron Pauls ideology comes closest to our founding fathers, maybe a libertarian view does not work as well as it did in the old days but personally for me, I am a proud American but there are only about a handful of states that I would live in, not all states are created equal.
My lesser of both evil vote would go to McCain, the reason is the three biggest issues economy, Iraq and immigration possibly best affirmed by Maurice "Hank" Greenberg (ex AIG CEO, WWII bronze star and the only person to stand up face to face to Ahmadenajid) that the economy is cyclic and a stagflation is due to the high prices of oil, which will mellow down next year in it's natural cyclic nature, however the economy and Iraq are intertwined with oil production but most importantly peacebuilding and not peacemaking which in order to give peace a chance, the situation must be stable in Iraq, peacebuilding is different as it changes the culture of war particularly in the middle-east and it creates a stable region not just one country. This will also prevent future conflicts. As for immigration, I don't see any of these candidates fixing the problem though McCain has shown with the McCain-Kennedy bill to cross party lines and this the sort of thinking America needs, the so called up-and-down approach and not left-or-right. Perhaps McCain will choose a Black and women for VP, that of Condi.
