So nothing to do with Mark Harris and this election. Thought so.

Harris gave a press conference today in Raleigh after meeting with the election investigators. He's frustrated. Democrats have completely screwed up this investigation and now there's no board to release any findings. The evidentiary hearing has been delayed yet again.

No one told him to hire Dowless, in fact, Republicans told him to stay away from Dowless and why. It's his own fault. He chose to cheat.

Where did you get that? The federal DOJ ignored the complaint from the NC elections board. If they had dealt with him, Harris couldn't have hired Dowless after being told to keep away from Dowless by other Republicans. It has everything to do with the current mess.

The board that investigated was bipartisan with a split of the parties and independents. The Rs are the ones who have tried to finagle the whole election process and end this board. If Harris had not hired this dolt he would not be facing this problem. At this point even the head of the NC GOP wants a re-vote. And the state legislature (which is majority R) feels that Harris was so knee deep in whatever went down they forwarded legislation to try to allow a revote in the primary as well.

Your comment is akin to complaining about traffic after personally causing an accident that instigates a traffic jam. But let's see if the Rs want to amp up the volume on this. I'm sure that will go over really well with the suburban women who threw about 2/3s of the flipped districts to Dems- apparently this one as well.

Absolutely right. Sad to see some others are blind to this.

It will probably have to resolved with another election.

It has not been proved that Dowless has done anything wrong in this election.

Where's the evidence? Democrats have failed to produce it.

There was no crime against Democrats. And Democrats do not get to act as judge, jury and executioner. There is a very high likelihood there was a crime against the electorate in general. A bipartisan commission reviewed complaints. Those included sworn depositions by voters and by people hired by Dowless (who was an employee Harris had been warned not to hire.) These depositions lay out instances of incomplete ballots being picked up for completion by others and the fact that ballots were not sealed when they were retrieved. The problems are that vote harvesting is not allowed in NC, there is no way of knowing if ballots were completed by others and there is no assurance that ballots unfavorable to Harris were simply discarded. There are also allegations that absentee ballots were requested by people other than the actual voter.

At this point there is no longer an entity that would either investigate this or certify the election if it was proper. So we'll sit around... and wait... while Rs have taken the extraordinary step of bringing a primary back into play because they realize their candidate was crooked and has lost all credibility.
