While the two dems fight it out, McCain has been getting a free ride with the press. That is about to end. The ads against McCain will start running before the Dem candidate is chosen. David Brock, a former conservative writer for The American Spectator, was instrumental in drumming up false charges against Bill Clinton. His book Blinded by the Right is a real eye opener. Brock is seen as closer to Hillary's campaign but is also meeting with Obama's allies. The ads will help to unify the dem party.

Clip:
...Brock's remarkable emergence as a leader of the Democratic party's shadow campaign efforts marks a milestone in a long personal journey that began in the early 1990s with the notoriety he gained from magazine stories written for The American Spectator, a conservative monthly. Among his controversial articles was one alleging that Bill Clinton had used Arkansas state troopers to facilitate his philandering, a piece that set the wheels in motion for Paula Jones to file suit against Clinton for sexual harassment. In 1993, Brock authored The Real Anita Hill, a critical book about the woman who accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment.

Brock later apologized to Clinton in a public letter and broke publicly with the conservative movement. He wrote about his disillusionment in his 2002 memoir Blinded by the Right

And you think Obama hasn't been getting a pass from the media?

That will change if he gets the nomination.

Do you think the independent conservative groups are going to sit on their hands?

Good times ahead, for sure.

I hope something comes out that makes the GOP reconsider nominating him. It's not bad enough that he's violating FEC rules on fundraising and spending. It's not bad enough that he's surrounding himself with the same people Bush has relied on for advice. It's not bad enough that some of the major conservative principles the GOP has paid lip service to are the ones he's on the wrong side of. It's not bad enough that America is completely fed up with the Republican party as a whole. Go ahead GOP, nominate McCain and watch your chance to keep the White House go down in flames like those fighter jets McCain crashed.

I don't understand how people think Obama has had a free ride. The Clinton camp has thrown every bit of "dirt" they can find at him (either directly or through surrogates) and he's survived it all.

He's been extremely forthcoming about Wright, Rezco and Farakhan (sp). You may not like the answers he's given but judging by the national polls the public at large is satisfied with them.

Yes, I think Obama's definitely been getting better treatment in the media than Hillary. We attended a rally for Hillary last weekend. She praised Oregon for being an environmental leader in the U.S. Our local paper's headline read "Hillary gushes over Oregon's green steps". Would the term "gushes" be used to describe McCain or Obama? I think not. Sexism is alive and well in the media.

Teflon John as Dan Abrams likes to call him. Lol. I love that segment on his show "Verdict with Dan Abrams," on MSNBC.

If you don't think McCain's getting a pass in the press, you need to get your head out of your you know what. But its understandable the press is bored with him so they don't even bother, he's not the story right now. For McCain's sake he better be using that time to tighten ship and avoid some of the gaffes he's been making.

Abrams is the only MSNBC commentator I watch now as he seems to be the most neutral.

It's going to boil down to who has the most money. Right now the dems are way ahead. As far as the candidates are concerned, if it's Obama v McCain, they've both pledged to take public financing. Let's see if they stick to the original commitment.

Hilary beig the front runner in the pre-primary has gotten her alot of attention from the media;while giving Obama somewhat of a free ride. But now I think things are changing and his past is being looked at more closely.I think that as long as the democrats are fighting tooth and nail that Mccain will surge. Who knows what will happen in the general election.
