If the hoaxers committed a crime then by all means prosecute them. By saying "if they committed a crime" it goes without saying that if the story that just came out is true then the alleged hoaxers have at the very least subjected themselves to a massive lawsuit from Buttigeig. That's the best case scenario for anyone unless you're accusing a Republican which allows you to break any law against perpetrating a false hoax assault allegation as long as it furthers the leftist cause (i.e. Smollett, Kavanaugh accusers, etc)
