Yeah it probably was. She wanted to be the star and didn't think she needed to amp up base excitement. She went with least scary to independents and leaners. Kaine looked good on paper but he did not connect.

Just a small correction about Tulsi Gabbard

Hindi = dominant language of India, the national language, mainly spoken in the north and to lesser extent in the west and east India with a smattering in the south.

Hindu = dominant religion of India, currently at 80% but declining as the % of Muslims inches up steadily. Also a religion found in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bali and Nepal.

BTW, Kamala Harris was brought up a Hindu by her mother who is a Hindu Brahmin from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India. Kamala later converted to Christianity.

Unusual tidbit connection= Kamala In Sanskrit means lotus, a flower used in Hindu religious ceremonies. Tulsi is the Hindi name for a herb like plant used extensively in Hindu religious ceremonies.

With more than 20 Democratic candidates for President and possibly 50 candidates for Vice President, there are probably theoretically a thousand different ticket combinations. There are probably 25-50 combinations that have most of the probability and within that group there might be 5-10 that have most of that chance. But there more than just 5-10 options and I'd look carefully at more than 5-10.

Governor of Michigan could be a possible candidate for VP

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gretchen_Whitmer

Apparently pretty popular there.

With next debate in Detroit she might get some press.

Said she wasn't interested in job earlier this year but it can be different if you are actually asked.

Hoping for a Klobouchar/Gabbard ticket

Think this is a winning ticket combo why:

They are females. Female voter's are not going to vote based off gender. However, who else to best represent and stand up for women rights in the U.S. than two females.

Second Representative Gabbard can gather support from the military community.

Third Representative Gabbard can gather support from the African American communities.

Fourth Representative Gabbard can gather support from Pacific Islander's and the West Coast.

Five Representative Klobouchar can gather support from the farmer's.

Six Representative Klobouchar can possibly gather votes from the Midwest State's.

This ticket would probably bring in voter's from Blue Dogs, Moderates, Third Party, unaffiliated, and left leaning Republicans.

This ticket will give voter's a moderate and progressive non established ticket.

... and Rep. Gabbard would have support of Assad in Syria and Putin too!

Looking back, the Vice Presidency has always been more of a career-ender than a pathway to the Presidency.

Who was the last Vice President who followed his President into the White House? GHW Bush, 31 years ago.

All the others either went home for good or went back to the office they came from. The losing VPs mostly quit seeking political office and turned to becoming party member influencers instead.

That's a fact that will make many of the most likely, or possibly the best choices say "No, Thanks." It's often better for someone with Presidential ambitions to lose in the primaries than it is to accept the offer of the Vice Presidency.

A primary loser with a strong showing always has the chance of a better second act, but a VP seems to never have a part in second act at all available to him. His part ends when the first act ends unless the star of the show dies in the first act.
