It's the presumption of the thing. I'm no Bruce Springsteen, but I speak in front of groups of people two or three times a month as part of my business. I don't discuss my political opinions in front of them.

I personally like what Elvis Costello said before the last election when asked his political preference: "Man, don't ask me that. I'm just an entertainer."

I think Bruce has every right to speak out but I don't think it means much to voters. Most people could care less, however, "freedom of speech". It's what America is all about.
