I don't care about celebrities' opinions and I respect the celebrities more that don't presume to think their celebrity gives them some kind of authority.

No and mostly it's like they want us to think that we are too stupid to make a decision!

When Sean Penn went to all these scumbags and try to make America look stupid.... it makes me not want to see their movies again. When Barbra Streisand started to talk politics on her show, I was shocked and I was one of her biggest fans and I knew she liked Clinton very much, but keep it private....but the last time cursing at a person in the public who told her to shut up and sing... This guy was right, he paid a lot of money to hear her sing and not talk politics.

I agree. I used to like George Clooney and Julia Roberts but now whenever I see them all I can think about is what they said and so I don't enjoy them anymore. I'm always praying that my favorite actors and actresses will not say anything political so I can continue to enjoy their work.

Hollywood elites abuse drugs and alcohol, they can't stay married, their new movies are terrible, they have zero morals, and they are completely out of touch with reality.

If you're smart, you'll do the opposite of what anyone in Hollywood tells you to do.

I think celebraties should keep their opinions to themselves. I doubt they have any idea as to what they are talking about. Unfortunately there are some celebraties that have such an influence (Oprah) that many people hang on every word they say.

Celebrities talking politics or religion in front of an audience who have paid to hear them sing or act or do a Comedy bit are creating their own hell. They are risking their own career because chances are not everyone is going to agree with them.

I know people who were big fans of the Country Music girl group The Dixie Chicks. Even though they agreed with what the DC's said about Bush they thought it was inappropriate, especially in front of a British audience. Apparently a lot of other people felt the same way. Before they said what they did The Dixie Chicks had many, many number 1 records and albums and concert tickets were hard to come by. Now they can't sell records and don't do concerts because people won't pay to see them. I heard they were booed off of the stage here in Charlotte last year.

Springstein has always been a Democrat and makes no bones about it. He is for Obama unfortunately. He was also for a loser last election, John Kerry. He's not very good at picking winners but it doesn't hurt him at the boxoffice. People just laugh and say: "well...that's Springstein, ain't he funny? He played git with Roy Orbison. Roy was cool. He came out for another socialist, George McGovern in 1972, so he and the boss had several things in common besides Fender Strats."

Whether intentional or not, you continually say things that just aren't true. While there was an initial outcry from some disgruntled rednecks, all that has turned around. At the Grammy Awards Show in 2007, the group won 5 Grammies, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year, in a vote that the Chicks interpreted as being a show of public support for their advocacy of free speech and their early disapproval of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

At present, they are the highest-selling female band in any musical genre, having sold over 36 million albums as of March 2008.

Part of what you are saying is true but part is wrong.

Basically they are Toast and will probably never be popular again.

Their audience was Nashville based Country. They got mad when they got little or no support from Nashville after the story broke. They now say that they have abandoned that audience and they aren't a country group. Without that fanbase they are toast. Country music fans are loyal, go to concerts and buy records. The DC's made a huge mistake. They can't go popular because their sound isn't popular. They can't go Rap or Hip Hop obviously. They are toast!

The grammies in 2007 were a sham invented by the record industry to try and attact a cross genre audience. It failed. They are toast!
They had to cancel their last concert tour because no one was buying tickets. Their last album was a total bust. Even their "hit" single "Not Ready To make Nice" did not sell well according to Billboard.

They are Toast!

Which proves you shouldn't talk politics in front of people who have hired you to sing. They didn't hire you to talk politics so sing damnit!!!!
