this has always interested me.

Does "the left" believe that folks supported the wall only because Trump claimed he'd make Mexico pay cash for it?

Because personally, I knew that an impossible claim. What, like we'd send them a bill and they'd gladly fork it over?

Didn't matter, the point is not who pays for it - and it's our obligation to do a better job protecting our borders - but that it gets built as one facet of securing our borders/reducing illegal immigration.

And until they couldn't reach a deal in January, the Democrats were willing to pay for it too.

the "left" likes to point out that employers are complicit in illegal immigration ... but they think "the right" supports this. I haven't heard anybody say "oh well, we can't do anything about that, THOSE companies get a free pass." I've seen people say "let's figure out how to stop that too".

you didn't say "new wall". You said wall. if 60 miles of 20 ft high WALL replaces an easily overcome fence it's still a WALL.

Some of it was indeed already there, and difficult to overcome. Some was not.

by the way, with the "left" suing the Administration every time they try to do something, with sympathetic judges providing injunctions, then nothing new CAN get built.

Why don't you remind me? I have a short memory. So far we have an unbuilt wall that Mexico didn't pay for. We will pay $9 billion for it. And if anyone recalls, Trump shut down the government, forcing workers to go without paychecks for more than 6 weeks when Congress refused to fund it. Even Congress didn't support his wall. The SC justices have already been appointed. What have they done for us? Oh yeah, we have an internet sales tax now.

make sure you scroll down to the photo of the Tohono O'odham Reservation, with this caption:

Quote:
Young men walk along the Mexican side of the fence in a remote area of the Sonoran Desert, near the Tohono O'odham Reservation in Arizona in December 2010. “In Arizona, I've photographed hundreds of miles of what's known as a vehicle barrier,” Moore said. “It's essentially a series of bars in the ground that keep vehicles from coming across. But they do nothing to stop people. This type of fencing is mostly used in remote areas.”

You ask a question. You don’t accept their answers. Point taken. $9b is cheap. Do you want a secure wall or not? Do you vote for politicians that don’t want to invest in upgrading and/or adding walls where needed? Why are all democrats against enforcement of existing immigration laws. Why do liberals vote for traitors? Your hate for Trump blinds you. Who would you vote for today? You provide zero options. Just hate and denial. Typical symptoms of TDS.

So there is a reason for Trump's 41.6% approval rating. Not even his diehard supporters can come up with specific reasons we should reelect him. (Hint: TDS isn't a reason.)

The only reason to vote for Trump would be that if a person wasn't into the far left proposals that the dem front runners are proposing.

This doesn't have to be a vitriolic divisive thing. Either you are for far left policies or you're not. If so, vote for Warren or Sanders, if not, vote Trump, you could vote 3rd party if someone wish to as a statement vote, but for the anti-trumpers you would have to figure out if that 3rd party vote is a benefit to the dems or the repubs. That's something to factor in as well.

What will he accomplish if he is reelected? And how does/would it benefit the 99%? I'm not referring to the vague premise that "a Democrat would be bad for the country." How would reelecting Trump benefit us? The Republican legislature does not have specific policies for the party in 2020, only that their goal is to protect Trump from impeachment. What is the game plan beyond that?
To continue the recovery and swamp-drainage.
