"The people" are the same "people" in We the People, and all the other times it's mentioned in the constitution.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Why ludacris? It's a brotherhood, cops are often "cops for life"... retired POs have a better trained eye for trouble than the average Joe... and so many regular citizens can have concealed carry now too.

Also, hes not just coming up with these off the top of his head. He's studied and considered the issue as part of the board of that think tank in Chicago (and maybe elsewhere too I dont know), he has advisers, and observed the results good and bad of different legislation. And he's a constitutional lawyer.

Alot of cops are corrupt, JUST as many cops are corrupt as people.
and i for one find it ludacris that if someone breaks into my house, and points a gun at me and my family, im just going to have to sit with my thumb up my arse for 5 min till the cops show up. I think its ludacris that people want OTHERS to protect them.

FREEDOM ISNT FREE, in fact, its verry inconvienient (SP). freedom puts you in danger, and i dont think giving my freedom away is going to make me safer, it only puts me in the same danger with less resources and options.

giving up my right to carry a concealed firearm is giving away yet another right. And they dont stop there, everyone knows they keep pushing farther and farther and farther. So im not going to sit and keep giving ground. Id rather start pushing back now before its too late. Thats how alot of anti-gun control people feel about the issue. We just want to stop it from going to far.
