I'm a Democrat, an Edwards supporter... so I have no specific advocacy for Obama or Clinton, though I lean slightly towards Barak Obama. It seems to me that this election will be focused on the white male vote as the swing voter. Clinton has women, Hispanics, and people in rural areas Obama has blacks, urban knowledge/ "Creative Class" workers and the wealthy locked up. The only vote left is the white male with average education living outside a big city- but not in rural rust belt areas.

Apparently spammers love white dudes.

I'm a white male voter, though I live in a major city, so I guess I ain't white enough. For the record, I think my Dad and two of my brothers are on board with Obama. My dad and one of those brothers live in or outside of a smaller city in the South. Both are of the "HS Grad/ some college " educational bracket. The other brother that'd probably go Obama is in another major city. My third brother is a likely McCain voter. None of us are big on Clinton.

Out of curiosity, is it safe to assume that you are a blue-collar, or labor kind of guy, since you support Edwards? It seems like most of those voters would go to Clinton, since apparently Clinton is now considered a populist. I am just wondering if there is a trend who Edwards' supporters now like. Not prying.

About white dudes though, I think a lot will feel left out and vote McCain. I dunno just what I think. And it is not wishful thinking, or who I like, because I really can't stand anyone anymore. It is an objective opinion. I think a crusty old war hero always holds a certain appeal to men, not white men in particular, but black men will never support a Republican, so it is an appeal to white men by default.

white males hate hillary because she s a woman and Obama because he's black; on both ocassions there will be a feeling of resentment over inferiors jumping over them on the social ladder. And they take it as personal

So the dems need to win 55% female vote are else they are doomed

First of all is thread talking about white men, or typical white men? I would like to first know which group I need to generalize.

I can see men not voting for Clinton because she is woman, not because they hate women though. I think there are women who will not vote for Hillary because she is a woman.

But I would be very careful generalizing that white males hate black people. Keep saying something enough and it will come true. If your always portrayed as a racists, might as well be one. At this point I don't think it is because Obama is black, could have something to do with who he is. He comes across as someone who thinks he is better than other people because he is rich, black and successful. I don't think those that he associates with help him out much either. White men have been blamed for just about everything wrong in history, and Obama's friendship with a huge finger pointer will make white men too uncomfortable to vote for him. Is it right to blame Obama for what is essentially a "sins of the father" kind thing? I dunno, maybe, but that is one big reason many white men will not vote for him.

Now, now. Let's not jump to generalizations. Especially wrong ones.
