Rev. Wright to appear on Bill Moyers show :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Religion (http://www.suntimes.com/lifestyles/religion/913847,wright042408.article - broken link)

Quote:
Excerpt 3

Moyers: “Here is a man who came to see you 20 years ago. Wanted to know about the neighborhood. Barack Obama was a skeptic when it came to religion. He sought you out because he knew you knew about the community. You led him to the faith.

“You performed his wedding ceremony. You baptized his two children. You were, for 20 years, his spiritual counsel. He has said that. And, yet, he, in that speech at Philadelphia, had to say some hard things about you. . . . How did it go down with you when you heard Barack Obama say those things?”

Wright: “It went down very simply. He’s a politician, I’m a pastor. We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. But they’re two different worlds. I do what I do. He does what politicians do. So that what happened in Philadelphia where he had to respond to the soundbites, he responded as a politician.”
NO!! You mean Obama is just a regular old politician, saying whatever he must to squirm out of a bad, bad situation? Not the O-Man, not the savior, not the messiah!! Tell me this isn't true!!

You mean, he's not the change agent that he is claiming to be?

Surprise, surprise.

Well, it's kinda like this. Anyone, you, me, Obama, Hillary, John, each of us has one time, just one time to make a good impression. If the rev knew his "sermons" were being video-taped, he would have known they would be cannon fodder for his opposition. Quoting from your link: "Obama has distanced himself from Wright since video clips surfaced last month of sermons in which Wright blamed American foreign policy for contributing to the attacks on the World Trade Center. In one clip, Wright says, “God bless America? No, God damn America!”"

Folks will remember "God damn America!" a heck of a lot longer than anything the rev, or Mr. Moyers, or Obama or anyone else can write, speak, blog or anything else for the next several months, if not years. Just like Slick, just like W, just like any other politician going all the way back to FDR.

IMO the rev. made it even worse by the way he said "he is just a politician". To me he is stating that Obama will say what ever is needed to get away from the rev. Wright had said. So basically the rev. knows Obama agrees with hime, so it doesn't matter if Obama in public says something else. That is what I knew all along!!!!

Of course Obama is just another politician and his pastor just confirmed it
this will do yet more harm to Mr Obama
will it wake up folks? Not his die hard supporters, it does not matter what kind of jerk he is, but to "joe blow" watching the evening news, it will have an impact
I bet come Sat Obama will throw Wright under the bus with a loud thud, but too late
damage done!

Heh, they are SLAMMING Wright on CNN's Anderson Cooper show right now.
Well, two are -- good ole Roland Martin is sticking up for him. Mostly, the commentators were saying how this stinks for Obama, having the Rev. doing interviews and bringing it all up again. Hahahahaha

rev wright has a huge ego as well as obama
and it will be the end of both of them
I love it, I hope he yacks his head off
obama will throw him under the bus and the AA will go nuts!!
that is the only reason he has not done that because so many agree with wright about the "white man" being the devil
this just gets better and better
so much for healing the races!
all obama is doing is splitting the party

Hillary, McCain and Obama are Politicians do you really thing all their pandering means anything. Some maybe but most are just words to convince the voters to vote for them. Think about it people 9 Trillion in debt and growing rapidly every day. They all say one thing and when elected find it impossible to keep most promises. If you think differently then at least you have hope. I was sick yesterday when I heard McCain talk about Louisiana. Or when the other two make it sound that they can fix the world. Most of all of them pander to what they think we want to here. I choose to vote for Barack and with all the negative rude comments will not change that. People see through these man/woman made walls and only deepens my support for him.

The USA has a new disease with no cure in the near future. We should be very very concerned
