Someone alwasy wants somebody else to buy the drinks;now it is healthcare. Its like this generation has to find a replacemnt for their parents. You would think if democrats are so intelligent and smartt they could pay for their own. Leave the free healthcare for those that are disabled.loooking for someone to take care of them from birth ot the grave.
The reality is we are going to have to go to some sort of universal plan to keep ourselves competitive in the world market. Our small businesses cannot afford the outrageous rates they are charges, and our large businesses are saddled with a huge amount of benefits making it hard to react in a competitive market.
The discussion here is to debate the two Democratic plans on the table. Hillary proposes mandatory coverage, Barack proposes voluntary coverage. Personally I am more inclined to Hillary's approach here, because it spreads the risk across the board and should in essence lower all costs.
For those who want neither, we know all the reasons that you do not. We do not need to discuss waiting for kidneys, or anecdotal tales of horror. Thoughts?

If providing the means for everyone to be able to afford proper health maintenance and care is the problem I suggest a government backed and administered insurance program is the answer. A box of government bureaucrats on federal salaries is far less expensive than the same bureaucrats paid private sector executive wages and corporate profit. The task is the same - administer a health insurance system - the cost is much less if the government provides the service.
IMHO – the services to be paid for are provided by the private sector that would be paid for the cost of service plus 15% for profit. Limiting profits, particularly of hospitals, drug companies and specialty Doctors, would also save the system a considerable amount of money. A government system might actually save enough money that the cost of medical education could be reduced to the individual doctor to the point that many more people could become practitioners.
I suspect that the specialists, hospital corporations, drug companies and private insurance companies have realized that their gravy train is about to be derailed and are fighting any aspect of government insurance as hard as they can using every dishonest trick in the book. Casual observation shows this to be true.
Newither plan was goverhnamnt ran they both rely on the private sector to do the real work just as Medicare does. They don't have the expertise or people . I doubt the final plan if it gets done will look anythiong like the campaign plans. Certainly not Clintons mandatory plan as Obama say that would work. It will not be a one payer plan and will cost the insured money with sone help for the poor.Oabma estmated that 15 million will not sign up because of the cost to them. it will npot be like eurioepan plans because to actaully run hospitlas and such would cost a fortune in thsi country.

The insurance companies are basically paying the doctors now. Whoever is financing health care is paying the docs. If you think the measly little co-pays you are charged go far towards what a dr's visit costs, you're dreaming.
