Lordy I did not know this. They are now allowing Aabs to buy horses in the United States. Does Homeland Security know this? What if they blow one up in front of the stands at the Preakness or Belmont. I think it is ok for them to sell us oil but for them to take that money and buy American horses what's up with that?
I know you are being sarcastic, but never the less, did you know that there are many Arabian horses and several Arabian horses associations in this country? And actually many Americans own such horses and are members of those associations. I don’t see any reason why an Arab cant own or buy an “American Horse” here or elsewhere.
PETA now wants Eight Belle's jockey suspended claiming the horse was
"doubtlessly injured before the finish" and asked that Saez be suspended while Eight Belles' death is investigated. "What we really want to know, did he feel anything along the way?" PETA spokeswoman Kathy Guillermo said. "If he didn't then we can probably blame the fact that they're allowed to whip the horses mercilessly."
You ought to see the Dubai (United Arab Emirates) derby… Its consider to be the premier horse race show in the world today. It’s jaw dropping when you hear of the amount of money exchanged hands there.

Okay folks, just to be clear so everybody understands: "Arabian"is a BREED of Horse known for it's intelligence, stamina and spirit. Many consider Arabian horses the most beautiful animal on earth. It has a higher carried tail than most breeds and also a finer shaped face than any other breed. It is one of the oldest horse breeds on earth. Again, it is a BREED, like a GERMAN Shepherd is a BREED of dog.
Here are some pics of Arabian Horses:
Racehorses in the Kentucky Derby are "Thoroughbreds" which is also a BREED of horse. Not to be confused with the term "Purebred" which is a description of a pure bloodline for a number of generations in any breed of animal, not a breed of anything.
Here are pics of Thoroughbreds:
This is the great Secretariat, a Thoroughbred:
Note the difference in tail carriage and head shape.
Here, for the sake of discussion, is a Quarter Horse, another BREED, which excels at short sprints (55 MPH for a 1/4 mile) and is often seen in rodeos:
P.S. This Quarter Horse happens to be a "Palomino" which is a COLOR, NOT a breed.
The second horse in your pic, to the right of secretariat is not secretariat.
Secretariat was a chestnut with 3 white socks I believe. That horse in the pic is a bay
He is the one in the black and white photo. UNDER the heading with the " : " after it. Maybe it is not showing up the same way on all computers? That sometimes happens.
Yes, and a large portion of the field at the Kentucky Derby were Arab owned thoroughbreds. Horse racing is very big in other countries but I suspect the cash win for this race was pretty close to the highest for a single race.
THis jockey should be suspended until further inquiry into the case. Coulsd he have pulled up sooner or did he wait for the finish line and his second place pot of gold before dismounting. It is cruel and has to be investigated. # 1 Too many horses in one race, ther were bound to be caualties. There was space for at most 10 riders. I almost saw another mishap when a ride was pulling his reins despertaly trying to sloe down his horse who was too close to another one and a rear end collision could have been tragic.
Anyway I sahll not watch again. If no one watches next year perhaps they will get the point.

I would never watch horse racing. It is the sport for the filthy rich. Being blue collar I'll take dog races. Just kidding, I am more a Supercross/Motocross fan. When the riders eat it big time it is their fault or another rider, either way at least someone that is a thinking adult will get the blame. I think!
