ABC News has become the first news outlet to declare Obama has taken the lead in SDs, they have it 267-265. Others sources still have Clinton leading, albeit by single digits and it's only a matter of time.

Today Congressman Donald Payne of NJ has switched from Clinton to Obama and Rep. Peter Defazio of Ore. has endorsed Obama. Times are good if you are an Obama supporter.

A steady trickle cuts deeper than a flood.

Besides, Hillary's going to win WV and KY. Better to continue having her be a candidate for the next three weeks than to have her declared the winner of those states after she is no longer running. That only works to McCain's advantage.

But once KY is done---then let it flood!

It is being said that Obama will officially declare victory on May 20th, after Ken and Ore. On that day he is almost assured of reaching the threshold of 1627, a majority of pledged delegates. Right now he has 1598.

I thought the number to WIN was 2025 or something like that. 2200 with FL and MI? Majority doesn't make one the winner. It only means he still has the lead going into the convention. If Hillary concedes, then yeah, it's over, but I'm betting she drops out before WV and KY making it seem like voters prefer her to Obama ruining him in the general.

I'm just talking about pledged delegates, the 2025 number includes superdelegates.

As for Fla and Mi, who knows what will eventually happen with them, but there is no scenario that would change the outcome.

I don't know if the issue here is mathematics or just simply ignoring the blant truth. If you were competing with someone in a contest where there were 100 votes to be distributed amongst two of you and you attain over 50% of the total votes to be awarded - you can declare yourself a winner of that contest. If this is hard for you to understand, i would rephrase by saying that when you gain 51 out of 100 votes to be awarded - you can declare yourself a winner of that contest. On the other note, Dean and Edwards still won the contests they were favored to win long after they dropped out

Yup, happens all the time, in both parties. Huckabee is still getting a respectable number of votes. Both even though it happens all the time, it's the kind of thing that can be spun to the republicans favor.
