This is a highly partisan audit, expect highly partisan results. Nothing will change except it will be used by the RepubliCONS to pass voter suppression laws in AZ.
The head of a Florida-based technology company who has used social media to promote a range of unfounded election fraud claims and was involved with a previous effort to overturn election results in Michigan has been hired by the Arizona Senate to oversee the recount of Maricopa County's 2.1 million general election ballots.
The company, called Cyber Ninjas, will lead a team that includes three other firms as part of the $150,000 contract the Senate has awarded to conduct an unprecedented audit of the county's election results. But a deleted Twitter account that appears to belong to Cyber Ninjas founder Doug Logan suggests he has already made up his mind about the security of Arizona's elections. It includes a litany of unsubstantiated allegations about fraud in the last election.
What is the problem of ensuring that any future elections will be fair and free of any corruption?
...
We do that all the time, this is nothing new. It is standard operating procedure and to pretend otherwise is barking up the wrong tree.
We as a nation have put 200+ years of working election processes to be free of any corruption. This didn't start yesterday, we have been attacking corruption every time it rears it's ugly head.
Yes, historically there have been instances of ballot box stuffing and dead people voting, but the systems and laws in place in reaction to those abuses put a nearly complete stop to that generations ago. We know about them because of the press exposure and public outcry many many decades ago.
I volunteered to be an election judge last November and the six of us (three Republicans and three Democrats) had so many precise security procedures to follow and so many documents to sign it was formidable. I felt like I was signing my life away. Go ahead, go on Youtube and look for teaching videos on how to be an election judge. The process is intimidating and thankless, but every single step they take is for a reason.
Election officials work hard year in and year out to secure free and fair elections and they are proud of their own honest efforts. This is why when Trump tried to get a different result in Georgia, coercing members of his own party, they had to rebuff him. They knew the truth, they had already done their homework and knew the answers.
So no one is against ensuring that any future elections will be fair and free of any corruption, quite the contrary, we have all been for that all along, actually for our entire lives. The problem is when some people suggest (as you imply here) that the 2020 election was any worse than any other election prior. It wasn't worse, and the most powerful people in the government of every state have gone on record with that pledge. None other than the US Attorney General and the also the Department of Homeland Security under the last administration have stated likewise.
This is a highly partisan audit, expect highly partisan results. Nothing will change except it will be used by the RepubliCONS to pass voter suppression laws in AZ.
"The operation will be live-streamed by the pro-Trump right-wing television network OANN, which helped raise some of the money used to finance the audit and recount."

Reason: off topic
Took them long enough. Fighting an audit. Hmmm. Its not just the national elections they're worried about Im afraid.
Well, yeah!
If the Presidential election results are overthrown, Trump still wouldn't be installed in the White House because Biden is still the certified winner. Everything in 2020 would have to be identical in the certification process to discard Biden's certification and allow Trump to be the winner.
That's extremely unlikely, especially after Trump tried to have the leadership of both parties and his own Vice President killed. I don't think Pence would ever agree to preside over the certification process a second time, even if he was allowed to do it.
It's now Harris' Senate, not Pence's. Every person who was sitting in the Senate chamber on Jan.6 was terrified. No one will want that replay.
So the only way Trump would ever get the White House back would be to re-run the 2020 election. The entire election, including all the other seats that were on the ballot.
Why? Because once the Presidential choice is in doubt at the top of the ballot, everything else falls into doubt.
The only way to eliminate the doubt would be an audit of every state in the U.S. or a new re-run election.
Neither is going to happen. There were far too many other close races all over to permit either, and there was too much party churn in all 50 states to permit it.
I don't believe that the auditing contractor, Cyber Ninjas, hired by the Republican-controlled Arizona State Senate has begun their work. They are still working out the delivery of the boxes from Maricopa County containing the 2.1 million ballots and the ballot counting machines. Some snafus about where to deliver the items and difficulties in prepping the computerized hardware for shipping.
But it's a good thing that Arizona is spending at least $150,000 (and probably more than that) to employ an organization that's never conducted an election audit before, but is headed by Doug Logan, who has promoted false claims about the 2020 election being rigged.
Also good news is that any budgetary shortfall will be picked up via a donation effort spearheaded by Christina Robb, former Trump Administration employee and current on-air personality on One America News Network.
Yup, this entire effort just screams "unbiased", doesn't it.
