That's false. The well educated tend to be independent or democrat. This is especially skewed by the preponderance of Jewish-Americans - arguably the most highly educated ethnic group in the US - in the Democratic party. The second most highly educated ethnic group - Asian Americans - also lean Democratic.
It's no accident that Obama performs very well in cities with large universities and colleges. The areas where information and knowledge are held at a high premium - where people are well-informed, have access to information, and possess the critical thinking skills needed to process this information - vote for Obama.

He performs well in those areas because of the YOUNG vote. IMO you are not "educated" until at least 10 yrs in the WORKFORCE. College students are not necessarily educated people, they are developing their education. I dont think education level has anything to do with Obama supporters but age definitely does. A degree doesnt mean you are "educated" in life or politics.
Bad idea to limit WHO can vote - whether that limitation is by race, gender, property ownership qualifications, or even education level.
While I DO think that those with more education are more likely to choose wisely, the fact remains that whenever "Gates" are set up to limit to right to vote, almost certainly the use of those "Gates" is likely to be abused by the "Gatekeepers".
Note a good idea, simply NOT a good idea. Everyone should be allowed, and encouraged to vote. Democracy NEEDS every citizen to have that right and duty - not just a selected few of them. This is EVERYONE'S country - not just that of a few of us.

The percentage of Jewish and Asian Americans compared to other well educated populatons in the US would be low in comparison. You are only looking at those that vote democrat anyway.
More successful people vote Republican, so I would think that would correlate with higher education:
