Pro choice group NARAL has bowed to the inevitable and endorsed Obama. In the past NARAL has been a supporter of Hillary. Here's what they had to say:
Quote:
"Pro-choice Americans have been fortunate to have two strong pro-choice candidates in Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton both of whom have inspired millions of new voters to participate in this historic presidential race," said the group's president, Nancy Keenan. "Today, we are proud to put our organization's grassroots and political support behind the pro-choice candidate whom we believe will secure the Democratic nomination and advance to the general election. That candidate is Sen. Obama."
They are like any agenda-seeking lobbyist, Big business schemers, they go were the money is and the money is with Obama... why would they endorse someone that won't win and won't promise to give up our money and liberties to an organization...
Oh come now. This group has zero credibility. They stood by and said/did nothing as the clintons for years trashed, burned and tried to destroy the women that bubba assaulted.
Just because these women had an (r) beside their political affiliation.
I really just love how the clintons are now coming to realize how truly hated they actually are - and were. Of course, no one would cross them when they were in power.
Well, of course they're endorsing him! You can't get more pro-abortion than Obama! He was even against providing medical care for babies who survive abortions!

Obama is pro choice not "pro-abortion" He, like most Democrats, holds the sensible position that a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body.
Responsible candidates take their stances based on what they feel is best for the country as a whole. Candidates' personal opinions and feelings come through pretty much in their platforms, and in the jillions of debate and interview questions they answer on the same subjects over and over.
Q: What is your view on the decision on partial-birth abortion and your reaction to most of the public agreeing with the court's holding?
A: I think that most Americans recognize that this is a profoundly difficult issue for the women and families who make these decisions. They don't make them casually. And I trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy. And I think that's where most Americans are. Now, when you describe a specific procedure that accounts for less than 1% of the abortions that take place, then naturally, people get concerned, and I think legitimately so. But the broader issue here is: Do women have the right to make these profoundly difficult decisions? And I trust them to do it. There is a broader issue: Can we move past some of the debates around which we disagree and can we start talking about the things we do agree on? Reducing teen pregnancy; making it less likely for women to find themselves in these circumstances.
Our goal should be to make abortion less common, that we should be discouraging unwanted pregnancies, that we should encourage adoption wherever possible. There is a range of ways that we can educate our young people about the sacredness of sex and we should not be promoting the sort of casual activities that end up resulting in so many unwanted pregnancies.
My two cents - This is a most conservative opinion! He's saying "safe, legal and rare." He's not saying anything about interfering with states' rights or imposing federal legislation. It's practical, realistic, and conservative.
This is from page 1 of the thread called "What are Barack Obama's REAL VALUES?" (or similar) in this forum.
Please, please just look things up! And, you know, make a comment based on reality! We are supposed to be rational adults, don't you know.
