Sweatie doesnt bug me. What scares me is when Obama stated in an interview that he had just visited 57 states in the US but his advisors would not let him visit "one other, that being Alaska and Hawaii. Duh, that would be 2 states and we have 50 not 57. Is this a brighter than the average bear kind of guy? Is he really smarter than GW....I fear not.

No, he said he'd:
"been to 57 states, with 1 left to go, not counting Alaska and Hawaii" - that's a quote.
Clearly he was tired and meant to say " 47 states, with 1 left to go, not counting Alaska and Hawaii".
If you are going to try and smear him you should AT LEAST get his quote right. Not doing so makes others wonder if YOU are really smarter than GW.
As a middle-aged woman, I'm not offended by the "sweetie," "honey," "cookie," thing. LOL, sometimes just for fun, I respond with , "OK, cupcake!" And we laugh.
But that's just me. I know plenty of women who are, especially young women. Hahahaha, I once worked with a woman named Ann and we were speaking with a patient who was a German immigrant. He was calling her "Annie" with a thick accent and she thought he was calling her "honey." (I didn't catch on at first, either.) The first time he said it, she frowned. The next time, he said it, she said, "Please use my real name." He looked confused. The third time he said an accented "Annie," she lost it, yelling, "I am NOT your HONEY! That is disrespectful to me as a woman!" By this time, I had realized he WAS saying "Annie" and I grabbed her arm, took her aside, and quietly explained. She turned red and apologised to him.
Many professional women do NOT want to be called by a diminuative name. I don't blame them. Some men DO use it to put women "in their place" and gain control of a conversation. It shouldn't be used and men in Obama's position should know better. I'll bet his wife would FLIP if some man called her "honey" or "sweetie."
Any woman who would be offended by someone calling them "sweetie" definitely has issues. I've been called a lot worst. He meant nothing by this but I am sure the anti Obama people will try to spin and spin and spin and spin this.

Unlike you all that statement proves is that Barack Obama is human and makes mistakes like most of us. Excluding you of course MotleyCrew.
The funny thing is I am a retired Black male and I get called sweetie often by woman. Can be common coming from a waitress. Doesn't bother me and doesn't hurt their tip. I can understand that in his situation and considering Hillary it was not good timing.
Since moving to TX I have been called sweetie more than my entire life in CA. I actually like it, being 52 and white. It makes me fill so special!
I'm betting he's not using it to put a woman in her place. Great post....*still laughing
I agree and I am not an Obama supporter. What in the world have we come to when calling someone sweetie is so demeaning. Jeez we have problems bigger that who is going to be President!
This sweetie thing is so out of hand. I just heard someone on tv talking about it. Did Cheney get this much publicity when he shot someone?
